Part Three: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mgOvgEEPGBs

Zsuzsa Polgár was the first woman in the world to earn the Grandmaster title in chess. She was also the Women's World Chess champion from 1996-1999. This documentary examines the nature of her brain, and her training by her father in order to explain how, exactly, she was able to develop such a spectacular genius at the game of chess.

  • In Chess human's rely on memory and patterns compared to computer's who rely on brute force mathematical calculations. Recently human's have started to program 'pattern matching' into computer's making them a lot stronger.

  • @Electromusicaus That is fascinating- if "pattern matching" can be written in computer code to further improve the strength and speed of chess engines, this is surely one more step towards "artificial intelligence"?
