Islam doesn't encourage on counting and saving the money. It rather educates a Human Being to give the right to live to every one in the society whether poor or low paid. Islam just asks to spend the part of wealth in the way of Allah Almighty which is excessive from my needs. This is the greatest conflict between Islamic and non Islamic community. Islam give the right to live on equality to all human beings giving piety the upper hand & the other religions count wealth as status symbol.

Anyone lending money can choose to not charge interest on the principle amount. But because money is a commodity, interest has to be charged in order to at least maintain the its value over time, but, more importantly, as trade becomes more extensive and because money is a scarce commodity, competition over the rate of interest enables credit-worthy entrepreneurs to compete for its use. In simpler economies with very long time preferences, etc., Islamic principles may effectively enough apply.

The right to choose the Right or the Wrong Path has also been given only to the human beings and not the angels. If I know the right road and after that I am going on the wrong track its my fault. Allah Almighty is having each of my action recorded just as in the recent mobile phone technology a very small piece or chip is acting as a memory card of difference capacities. If I believe in Allah and teachings of the prophets I must get on the right road and leave the wrong one immediately.

In the west, one is free to make this choice, and if one cannot tolerate the west, one can live elsewhere. For example, a notorious Islamic cleric-cum-scholar living in London declared that the west was akin to living in a toilet. But a toilet he was prepared to tolerate because he and his family benefited very handsomely from the state: Car, home, medical expenses, schooling, etc. He did have the option to return to his homeland, and no one would have stopped him. A Muslim with conviction?

Wealth is a measure of how well it is possible for one to live one's life. I do not expect to see any Muslims declining an MRI scan, emergency surgery, or an international flight, for example, any time soon. One can be sufficiently pious without having to sacrifice one's life in the process. Those who consider otherwise, can choose to suffer the travails of nature and the impact upon their well being as they walk to Mecca. No one will be preventing them from doing so.
