  • Thanks for posting this!! I love this version with Lyle Lovett and Al Green- does anyone have a video of the filming/making of this, like the one of Patti LaBelle and Travis Tritt for "When Something is Wrong With My Baby" from the same album? This is a great old song!

    Thanks for posting YourMamaHangOut!

  • I don't have the video for the making of the album; but I did make a video for "When Something is Wrong With My Baby". I took it down. I can't remember if it was for copyright reasons or not. A lot of my videos have been removed because of copyright reasons. :(

  • This is from an album that pairs country singers with soul singers. Probably done in 2000. I forget what it was called....

  • The name is the info "Country, Rhythm, and Blues".

  • these 2 guys rock the hell out of this song!! a good pairing of these guys !!!

  • Most definitely! :)

  • Al Green is the Minister of Soul

  • one of my favorites from this special

  • beautiful

  • @barb12kp I have the Country Rhythm & Blues CD. There was a special on PBS that showed the recording of all of these soul/blues and country pairs. I've been tryiing to find the video or DVD. It's excellent.

  • Hadn't heard this duet before. They rock...

  • @barb12kp Actually the "Rhythm, Country, & Blues" album was released in 1993.

  • @YourMamasHangOut and what a fucking great album it is!

  • I love Al's voice on this track !

  • You know - I used to like this -- but honestly, I think Willie's version is the penultimate version. The song should be played SLOW - with more emotion. This version seems to flipant. It's catchy and Al Green is amazing - but I don't believe what they're singing. The song is about HEARTBREAK. Do you get that from this version? I don't.
