The creators of Sasuke (Ninja Warrior) decided that after Makoto Nagano achieved Total Victory in the 17th Season, they'd have to make all the stages harder. So, they redesigned Stages 1 - 3, adding in brand new obstacles and only keeping the most difficult obstacles from previous seasons (such as the CliffHanger). They also redesigned Stage 4, completely taking out the 12-meter Spider Climb, making the Final Stage into nothing more than a 22.5-meter (74 foot) rope climb. And, if they haven't changed the time limit, one only has 30 seconds to get to the top. That means a competitor would have to climb an average of 3-feet per second if they have any chance of getting to the summit in time. Sounds nearly impossible. So, I've decided to really step up my Ninja Warrior Training, and one thing I'm going to do is focus on climbing ropes.

I've always considered myself to be moderately strong, fit and healthy. I've been into weight-lifting for years; I've competed in many long-distance races, including one marathon at the young age of 16; and I've obtained the rank of Black Belt in Korean martial arts. However, it wasn't until November of 2007--the month I was introduced to the competitors of Japan's famous Sasuke "Ninja Warrior" Competition--that I realized what it really meant to be strong. Powerful men and heros such as Makoto Nagano, Mr. Ninja Warrior, and Shunsuke Nagasaki acted as the catalyst to spark my desire to compete in Ninja Warrior, and so I immediately began my training.

As I mention in the video, my goal is to compete in the SPRING, 2009 Ninja Warrior Competition (in March of 2009), and I've trained hard for it. Of course, I'll continue my training, always progressing in strength, speed, agility, endurance, and flexibility, and I'll do my best to create small videos such as this one to chart my progression.

By the time I submit my G4 American Ninja Warrior Challenge Video (right around December, 2008 / January, 2009), I hope you'll all watch and vote for me. With your votes and with your support, I'll have the opportunity to travel to Japan and represent the American People in Sasuke's 22nd Season. However, I have no intention of simply going and competing and having a good time. I'm going to win! I'm going to become the first true American Ninja Warrior, by conquering all four stages and ascending to the summit of Mount Midoriyama!

Please continue to watch my videos. As time goes on, the videos will become more and more impressive. I promise you that.

Thanks for watching and for your support. If you leave a comment, please leave one of support and encouragement. Nobody likes receiving comments intended to ridicule and tear down one's dreams.

  • How long is the rope? : ]

  • It's just under 7 meters, about 20 feet.

  • The new final stage looks like a spider-climb and then three ropes, actually.

Also, I would work on a rope climbing technique. I don't think you'll make it like this.

  • I'm interested to know where you're getting your information. From what I've seen and heard, that's not the new Final Stage at all. The new Final Stage appears to be a 22.5 meter (74 foot) rope climb.

  • I'm 12 and I want to eventually compete in the Sasuke do you have a suggestions or tips?

  • the new final stage is a ladder and then a rope climb.

  • I wish I had equipment like that.

  • @NixSeraph Its a 13 meter Ladder climb and then 10 meters of rope.

Although now as of NW 25 its unknown as the version your training for was beaten in 24.

  • sold climbs but I don't think 7m x 3 lengths at an average of 7seconds will mean you be able to complete the 22.5m in 30seconds. You will have very challenging courses and then the final one. THATS the problem everyone faces...if you had more recovery you would fair better. Try longer climbs and you will notice a huge drop in speed due to the 22.5m climb in one stint! It is a huge task after the 3 courses. good luck!

  • good stuff bro, dont listen to all the negative bullshit!

  • Forget about your dream dude... You are too weak for this, your muscles are not developed enough.

  • Thats how I used to do it, never used my legs.

  • sick man. this shit gets you jacked. quick
