[Crosswind landing - Go around] Singapore Airlines Boeing 747-400 (9V-SPJ) at NRT (Tokyo - Narita)

Singapore Airlines Boeing 747-400 (9V-SPJ) was trying land runway 16R of NRT (Tokyo - Narita International Airport in Japan), but decided to do go-around. i don't now the cause but probably due to a sudden change of wind direction or traffic on the runway. anyway enjoy the amazing fly-by XD

In gusty/wind shear conditions the correct procedure is NO config change untill positive climb out of threat zone.

so yes they were right to wait until positively climbing out of the area before gears up.

FYI a B744 will have large drag and lower climb performance whne the massive gear door opens and closes.

and in case you need to ask, i am a ex B744 pilot.
