@ThePocholo11 If someone thinks this is an American breed then ya, their stupid. The breed is relatively new to the USA having come here in the 50s. I worked for Mr. Tom Uelsmann before he did (rest his soul), and he was the man who helped to start the American PFHA.
@eazzyc35 not really, Spain brought the Spanish Jennet and the other breeds, but they did not bring the Paso Fino. It was created and developed in Colombia and Puerto Rico
naw you wrong the paso fino are from pr they got there firts the firt paso fino that came to the usa was Besilu and frio viento they came from pr and there were no paso fino in colombia the colombians when to pr and buy paso fino mares at 200 dolars and they take to colombia and mix them with trochas and golopes horse but the paso fino was made in pr christopher columbus bring they to pr at his secound trip and the best paso fino horse are in PUERTO RICO and EUROPA so if you dont belive me ask!!
yall people dont know what is a paso fino the paso fino is not for working cattles and theres is no pony paso fino yall americans dont know what your talking about you dont know the history the paso fino is from PUERTO RICO not from peru and not from the USA i know the history not like yall.!!!!!!!!!!
On how many breeds can anyone including older and more fragilel riders travel 25 or 30 miles and go dancing afterwards? Not many and the paso fino will be on the top of the list. They are strong, agile, love to go, smart, come in most colors and sizes and many different temperaments. Go enjoy your Arabian, QH, warmblood and when you're finished, hop on your paso fino to just fly across the pasture effortlessly and just enjoy yourself with a horse that reads your mind.
John is right on! By the way, I have ridden Peruvians and greatly prefer Paso Finos overall. Paso Finos do have three gears and when the get into a largo they can really move. Coral LaCe was a foundation sire for the single foot racers, by the way. He was a Paso Fino who could fly and yet offer a great ride.
@Emura100 I meant that the horse was brought to PuertoRico and Columbia but yes the actual training of the PasoFino was created in these countrys
