The crew at Push-To-Talk interview Jeremy Blaustein, the translator of the original Metal Gear Solid for Playstation. Blaustein talks about the difficulties of being a translator, his work on several Konami titles, and his interactions with the Kojima team.

Haha, this guy is awesome. Wish we could hear about all game creation as candid as this.

I thought MGS2 was actually extremely clever for its ambitious postmodern twist, and plot-wise it is my favorite game in the series by a long shot. The storytelling went downhill with 3 and ESPECIALLY 4, though.
Also, the latest Silent Hill game (Shattered Memories) was a huge rebound and one of the best in the series.

Silent Hill sucks balls now. Team Silent disbanded and now Akira Yamaoka is left Konami. Some shitty western developer has taken over and destroyed everything that made the series great.
SH1-2 are all time classics, 3-4 were ok, but the rest after that i wipe my ass with.

i love MGS series to death, but yeah MGS2 was rediculus, i remember playing it at the time thinking "wtf? did kojima just not want to make a sequel and just threw something together?" it seemed like he lost his mind and all, but totaly redeemed himself with MGS3 and 4, but i think MGS1 is the all time best in my opinion. Its my favorite game of all time.
