Ballyholland clinched a surprise 16-1 success in the William Hill Galway Plate to give County Down trainer Colin McBratney his biggest ever success. Andrew McNamara gave Ballyholland a superb ride to land the first prize with an eight-length success over Knock On the Head. Long-time leader Washington Lad held on to take third place after still being in front at the last.
