hm, as much as i like choir music, and like some of those choirs, somehow most of them don't make use of the fact that they have ~50 something singers., they just sing at the same time, nothing more nothing less. If you want to know what i mean what could be done more with a choir, look at the song "land down under" by the choir "voiceworks".

I'm not from the UK, so not familiar with that version of the Battle of the Choirs. I see and hear this for the first time. The the vocal harmonies and arrangements sound great and it's also fun watching! Fantastic when 18+, 30+ and 40+ can produce this together and with so much fun and skill!! Thanks for the post!
