Rolling Stone list of the 100 greatest guitar players of all time has:
1. Jimi Hendrix
2. Duane Allman
3. B.B. King
4. Eric Clapton
5. Robert Johnson
6. Chuck Berry
7. Stevie Ray Vaughan
8. Ry Cooder
9. Jimmy Page
10. Keith Richards

This is part one of my Blues Rock Guitar Hall of Fame. Here is my list in alphabetical order (except for B.B. King):
1. Duane Allman
2. Mike Bloomfield (R.S. #22)
3. Eric Clapton
4. Jimi Hendrix
5. Elmore James (not on R.S. 100 list!)
6. B.B. King
7. Albert King (not on R.S. 100 list!)
8. Carlos Santana (R.S. # 15)
9. Derek Trucks (R.S. # 81)
10. Stevie Ray Vaughan

I don't want to put them in an order of who's best, because they are all simply great in their own special way. If I had good audio, and at least more than one photo I would have included Robert Johnson.

There are many other worthy guitarists and really in the end it is simply a matter of what you like - this is my list, but I could have easily included:
Ronnie Earl (not on R.S. 100 list)
Dickey Betts
Warren Haynes
Bonnie Raitt
Hubert Sumlin (R.S. #65)
Johnny Winter
and many more.

  • umm...Gary Moore??....hellooo?

  • Glad to see you saved the best for last! Stevie Ray #1 for me Always.

  • Jeff Beck please!

  • Bloomfield and Hendrix were the 2 geniuses, the rest are great guitar players

  • Thanks for this video man!

    Discovered a few new artists!

  • this dude sounds like carlos santana

  • Can someone tell me the names of the songs?

  • Anyone who doesn't put Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimi Hendrix in the top 2 slots automatically is OUT OF THEIR MIND.

  • WHERE THE FRACK IS MIKE STERN???????

  • I put Buddy Guy #1 because he influenced all the rest. BB King #2 for same reason. Then Bloomfield, pure genius. STV #4 even if he copied Albert King & Hendrix. After that in no particular order, Freddie King, Albert King, Duane Allman, Elmore James, Robert Johnson, and Peter Green. Clapton is OK, but... I also like Page and Winter.
