From the 1995 Tennessee Bird release, Buckout Road, Independence is a hard song for me figure out. I mean the meaning of course. I guess it's sort of willfully obscure as a lot of my work was (and later on I finally grew tired of being obscure for obscure's sake and even wrote a song called Home that detailed this new direct writing plan in 1999) but I still like the sound of it. Originally it was two separate songs that got put together in the end and the solo part in the middle had a great jazzish type piano solo by Brett. You won't be hearing that of course. Sorry for even mentioning it now that I think of it. Anyway, that's Independence.
