@Perilix American coats. Unless you were in a royal regiment from the British army, the musician coats were reversed according to the facing colors. For example, 64th Regiment of the British from this era had black facings, so the musicians would have black regimentals with red facings and chevrons going down each sleeve. @PunKzNotDead76 Ah thanks I never knew that. I've only really looked at the Napoleonic Period and now little to none about the American War of Independence. Thanks for the info! Appreciated.

@Perilix Actually, they are wearing American uniforms. During this period, the Fifes and Drums wore the reverse color uniforms of the regular soldiers in their regiment. (easier to spot the drummers on the field) These musicians are wearing red coats faced with blue, therefore their regiment wore blue coats faced with red. A British Musicians coat would look much different from these.
