  • Hi, no not seen that documentary. You can still find a lot of WW2 stuff around the Pacifc islands, from the Japanese occupation, and US assaults. Could be one of these, possibly Micronesia- Chuuk, Yap, or Palau? Dive centre closed due to recession- could not get reliable flights out to the atoll. All the ordnance on the wreck at Bikini is live, 500lb bombs, shells and lots of torpedoes and mines, and also depth charges. Not sure it'd be a good idea to bring them up, they are unstable when dry!

  • just a q if anyone can answer it for me can you take anything from these ships like the plane thats intack or plates ? thanx great vid

  • The Bikininian Government are very protective of their wrecks, which were "gifted" to them by the US Government. If you remove any artifacts, they will relieve you of your dive gear, fine you and probably have you detained. At the moment, you can't actually dive there unless you charter a boat, get permissions and have a dive guide with you at all times, as the dive program has shut down.
