KISS Army Argentina interviews KISS & Tell Book Author Gordon G.G. Gebert on Ace Frehley's autobiography No Regrets book, Frehley's Comet and much, much more.

It's an honor for Kiss Army Argentina that you accepted the interview. Thank you very much, Gordon!

KISS Army Argentina: First of all, Gordon, thank you very much for your time for this interview with KISS Army Argentina.

KAA: Let's get started. There are many things that we would like to know... For instance: you met Ace Frehley through a friend of yours called Linda, whom you dated in the mid '80s. What was you first impression of Ace when you met him?

KAA: During those early years with Ace you lived all the process of what later became Frehley's Comet, and the first presentations of the band in places such as the China Club, Cat Club, etc. How did Ace live that process, considering that with KISS he performed in big packed arenas and that, almost all of a sudden, he had to start from scratch, as a solo artist?

KAA: We could say that immediately after you first met Ace, you became his right-hand man... It all happened very quickly, and in a very chaotic way, too, according to what we can read in your book "KISS & Tell"...

KAA: In your book you also tell that Frehley's Comet could have truly succeeded if they had wanted to, as John Reagan, the bassist of the band, was also very intelligent with doing business, but that at the same time, Ace's erratic behavior was not exactly helpful, due to which John Reagan finally quit the band, tired of having to deal alone with everything...

KAA: What memories do you have from Eric Carr? We remember that Ace and Eric were friends, and that for instance, when the Comets had to replace Tod Howarth during the audition for guitarists (Ace finally decided to call Richie Scarlet, with whom he had already worked during the early years of the Comets), Eric was the drummer in the studio for a whole afternoon/evening.

KAA: Ace had a record contract with Megaforce Records that came to an end in 1990, after the release of "Trouble Walkin'", and we could say that he started a new stage with his band, during the first half of the '90s, before he re joined KISS. But he was not able to get any interest from record labels in order to release a new album, though he kept saying he was working on new material. You stayed with Ace until 1993; what was in your opinion the reason Ace had for such a delay in stabilizing his career?

KAA: Apart from the record label issue, Ace had other problems: the lineup of the band was not stable, as there were many changes in the drummer and bassist position...

KAA: Your relationship with Ace ended in the worst way: in court, accused by Ace of embezzlement regarding Rock Soldiers S.A. (Ace's old fans club), when he filed for bankruptcy after the MTV Unplugged show and before the Reunion tour. In the list of Ace's creditors your name was not the only one: John Reagan and many others were also there; how did you manage to achieve an agreement with Ace and his lawyers?

KAA: Your book, cowritten with Bob McAdams, is a favorite for KISS fans; there are many hilarious stories, as well as some pretty incredible ones. Did you ever have any problem with Ace in relation to the stories contained in the book?

KAA: You have probably read Wendy Moore's (former Ace's girlfriend from 1998 to 2001) book "Into the Void"; what is your opinion about it?

KAA: After so many years, what memories do you have from the time you spent with Ace? Did you ever contact him again?

KAA: As of today¸ do you keep in touch with John Reagan, Richie Scarlet, Anton Fig or any of the other musicians with whom you shared tours and experiences?

KAA: After he left KISS again in 2002, Ace spent many years away from the music scene, and fortunately for the fans, he had a great comeback with "Anomaly", and it seems that this time he is determined to stay sober. As for his present, would you like to meet him again, beyond all the problems that you had?

KAA: What advice would you have given Ace twenty years ago and what would you tell him today?

KAA: Which is the best memory that you keep from Ace? We are not referring to something material, but rather to a nice moment that you lived together...

KAA: Ace has recently released "No Regrets", his autobiography; do you plan to read it?

KAA: What are you currently up to and what are your plans for the future?

KAA: Gordon, once again, thanks a lot for your time.
