The beasts hit much harder, they'll basically oneshot your casters when they are larger like that. He also throws out an aoe 80% movement speed reduction debuff every 50seconds making kiting the adds a little harder.
And yes, he gains alot more power from all of his abilities - hardmode is basically a DPS race against marks.

And there was a larger than normal number of mark of the fallen on people at the end, does he build his blood power up faster in hm as well?

Strange, I thought I put up a comment earlier about this but:
Was there any extra tricks in the HM? I noticed the blood beasts got larger as they got hit. Was there a freya-snaplasher like mechanic going on there or was it just a graphical change only?
And of course, grats on the kill as always.
