Garden Spiders

Garden spiders are harmless and fun to watch.
They are superb architects and play an important part in controlling insect populations.
Black and yellow garden spiders are easy to find.
They are common in gardens, fields and urban backyards.
This spider is large, with fully-grown females reaching an inch or more in length.
The spider commonly weaves a characteristic zig-zag band in it's web and eat a variety of insects, including grasshoppers and katydids.

i held one of those spiders before they may look mean but they r actually gentle all it does is just crawl on u and dosnt bite unless u tryed to harm it

I caught one and I fed it a grass hopper. And they don't bite I haven't bin bit bye one yet

lol these spiders arent hard to find. jus look for like bushes and find them. i have like 3 in a jar but 2 of them fought so i have 1. they grabbed me so im still too scared to hold it. not even open my jar

Even though Dad and I both have major arachnophobia, we used to toss grasshoppers into these spiders' webs all the time. Kinda funny how they'd scurry over to their prey, like you were throwing a dog a bone or something.

I got one of these in my yard, saw it this morning when i was going to school. Scared the hell out of me and i thought they were dangerous. But i looked them up and i kinda thought it was cool to see one. Im terrified of spiders but i actually like watching this one :) i might even name it
