  • Training wheels of giving is a twisted way of saying that you are bound to the law. In every case that Jesus taught on giving it was always to give ALL. But it was not giving to a building or the pastor. It was to those who had need. get off percentages!

  • If we can preach grace radical enough we will see the results of GRACE GIVING.

  • If you want to talk 'training wheels' why not just do it all then, Why only with the tithing law and not the rest of the law?

  • I give 60% of my income under Grace giving but there is something wrong with what he says. Nowhere is 10% motioned as a minimum in the New Testament. No preacher in the N.T. ever even used those words or came close to using it. I know grace empowers to give. Get rid of the safety nett to make sure bills are paid of 10% my friend.

  • Wow some great answers on this page...especially gr8name1...I don't see the tithe concept in the early new testament church it is an old testament concept...we are under a new covenant (agreement or contract) the truth is all we have belongs to Jesus we are just managers of it for the sake of the Kingdom of God...Jesus told us WHEN you give to the POOR not if we give to the poor...not when we give to the CHURCH...Jesus wants us to take personal responsibility for those around us...

  • Amen!!

  • Grace giving is giving without having been told to do so. Grace giving is what Hebrews7 is talking about when it mentions Abrahams tithe in the Genesis14.YOU are not under a curse or a law to give, but I will tell you the truth when you have the love of God inside of you no one will be able to stop you from giving. 10% is chump change. I am telling you the truth My family give close to 25% of our INCREASE and we are truly truly blessed. PEACE.....:^)

  • In a society where there is no gov agency to take care of the poor case is different. If someone live in a society where gov takes 12-15% TPS after some hidden taxes on products, charges average of 30-40% on income taxes, which real christian (you know, someone that does not bow to Mammon ...) still has enough to give another 10% and be able to feed his family ???

  • I'm afraid that what churches have on their minds now is anything but "distributing to the needs of the saints" and more in line with distributing to the wants of the building fund, recreational committee, etc.

  • Grace giving means giving where and when you see a need you can meet, whether it's at "church" or not; if one is measuring by what is given to the institutional church, it is being measured wrongly. It's not about what's given only at "church". What "the church" considers to be giving now was the farthest from the minds of the NT Christians who were giving to meet the needs of the poor among them.
