I nvr got why parents wanted childrens rooms clean.... its their room if they wanna live in mess a filth let em I mean its not like the parents have to sleep or play or relax in that room anyway!

The parents DO have to work and save to pay for that room- something the kids are too selfish and lazy to do for themselves.

My mom would make it kinda hard to get things done when all I hear is 'Toby! I need you to run to the grocery store and pick things up for dinner!' 'Toby aunt Mary-Alice needs you to baby sit her kids this evening! You're leaving now!' 'Toby your papers were just delivered! Come get them rolled and ready for morning delivery!' 'Toby it's your turn to make supper!' 'Toby stop fooling around in your room and take the dog for a walk!' 'Toby quit fooling around and get your homework done!'

I feel like I just watched an episode of the simpsons. It's ironic that I watched this: before I finished with part 1, my mother insisted that my room be overhauled which resulted in the discarding of several things that she had bought for me over the years and was appalled that I didn't care about. I had to point out that she insisted my room be made much cleaner which meant getting rid of things I didn't care about.

It doesn't matter what age you are; parents are just insatiable.

When my sister and I were little, our mother used to threaten us with throwing things away if we didn't keep our rooms clean too.

I dont like parents who expect their kids to clean a room by performing a miracle. They need the means/materials to get the job done too! Boxes and containers are great....and even a trashcan/donation box is useful too.

At least here Brother and Sister act more like REAL children, compared to the overly conscientious versions in the later series.
