  • What year was this shot?

  • @copyright1982 around 1986

  • Man, Dana Hersey was soooo damned funny, a natural talent for comedy. They only made a few of these and I remember being doubled over laughing. This reminds me of that police farce Blotter as a low budget, high quality comedy.

  • We Don't Knock was very funny. I'm still looking for the other shows I have on tape. Dana got kicked out of the irs or post office in one show . i don't believe WSBK in Boston ever saved any of the shows on tape. SAD

  • Only force like Dana Hersey, the TV-38 team and Boston generate such a wonderfully fresh and spirited program like "We Don't Knock." This clip is great but I remember others that will hopefully surface here. WNYW-TV (where I had worked) came close with Hersey type segments carried out by Aussie Gordon Elliot for its daily "Good Day New York" show beginning in 1988. But no has ever matched Dana.

  • Judging by the newspaper headline ("Noah Beats Mecir In Italian Final"), this show was taped sometime in late May 1985.

  • Ahhh the good ole days!

  • THE RAT-A CLASSIC ICON

  • Got VHS tape of my old mans band, "The Ampeaters" playin the Rat in 1985... classic

  • This was like looking through a time-scope... Kenmore Square hasn't looked like this in years, and Off The Wall has been gone for decades...

The guy with the glasses, Mike Turk, that Hersey talks to in the Rat used to be one of the best jazz harmonica players in New England. (What was he doing in The Rat?)
