I was driving around the perimeter of Symington Yard in Winnipeg when I caught this transfer. CN slug 268 and repainted GP9 CN 7258 were bringing some containers and panel track over from Transcona to Symington. 7258 was recently repainted with a special paint scheme celebrating CN's 15 years of being a private company. Of special interest is the set of panel track on the rear of the train... like model railroad track.

  • Sounds like some sticking brakes on some of those intermodal cars.

  • Man love the 15th anniversary paint scheme on that GP9. Talk about a weird train set for this train; train wheels on the top set of intermodal containers I never knew they could do that. Awesome catch and lash-up Steve

  • Now that GP9 looks cool, I like them but they look so old in that old paint

  • Now that's what I call cool.

  • i love watching trains pull track. i feel like its pulling model railroad tracks. I have never seen a 15 year locomotive, or a shunting train (the slug and the GP??) pull containers.
