i had the pins taken out of my leg and the cast taken off

It looks to me like the knee was broken, and not the tibia, no wonder why the cast had a lot of padding around a knee, a broken patella that is bad enough to need surgery needs a long leg cast, or brace no questions asked.

@lennic95 I've broken my tibia in my leg before, if you break the tibia it affects the entire leg, foot, and ankle which is why it needs a long leg cast as the tibia affects the leg ankle and stability of the knee.

I had a cast that long when I broke my leg (tibia) but that was on for 6 weeks, and then I had two short leg casts a non-weightbearing one on for 4 weeks, a weightbearing one, then I just had a rocker bottom walker boot.

yah i broken my leg like that too but only in one spot allmost could go right back. and the saw did tickle .... funny stuff

they have the long cast for a good resson. i broke my leg in soccer and am old 11 so it hurt, and the put it up so long so i dont move my knee and keep the ankle for moving and stuff

what's a long leg cast 4? did u break your leg at the top and at the bottom, or only the top?

it depends, if its a minor fracture ur talking 1-2 months. if u needed pins or sugergy that got somthing placed inside ur leg, ur talking 8-9 XC srry man
