  • I was brought up a relatively conservative Muslim so drinking is frowned upon in my household. That being said, my grandfather and father and uncles all have drunk in the past. I am in my 3rd year at uni and I do have quite a lot of pressure to drink and it's not just that you tell people once and that's it - every time you go out they will persist with the questioning and because you aren't drinking, they feel uncomfortable around you so i don't do this much anymore. Great video. :D

  • We’ve launched a new initiative called Family Talk UK to help parents share advice with each other about how best to talk to their children about alcohol and responsible drinking – check out our videos of parents discussing the issue on our Youtube channel, and join the discussion yourself here by searching “Family Talk UK” on Facebook

  • I've been very fortunate to have a group of friends where there is little to no pressure to do anything except perhaps do well in school. But the biggest pressure would probably to be skinnier, not from my friends, but rather the media as you mentioned.

  • as a 24 yr old drinking helps you unwind. as a teenager drinking helps boredom and confusion. they affect health when u are consistent and excessive, otherwise not so much.

  • Your very smart indeed. Nice video!

I think drinking (a lot) is for every student a bit of a pressure (especially in the netherlands). With smoking, just as you said, you would smoke a lot sooner when your parents smoke. Getting on the (bad) drugs usually happends on a very young age, like 12 to 17, when you come in contact with other people who take drugs on a daily basis.

I don't know if what I just wrote above is true in general, but iv seen it happen in my surroundings.

  • u are so cute and silky soft

  • As a mature student I find the whole binge drinking a worry. I used to drink when I was younger but I knew when to stop. Now they just shove any old rubbish down their throat just to get drunk, very worrying. Cant believe the pubs that pass out free shots all the time and then moan when they are sick everywhere. Too many disreputable pubs and untrained staff. If you dont believe me try Broad St in Birmingham on a Saturday night. Very seedy!!

  • I was in depression for two years, and I lost weight, and I'm still to this day am a size six, I get looks from people and told from strangers that I'm putting a bad influence on younger girls and boys, but they didn't know the frame of mind I was in, and plus I have been skinny all my life, only for the past 2 years it had been at its worst, I'm happy to say that I have recovered from my depression and My life is back on track :)

  • i would join in and possibly try to record it and also upload a video to the internet - true story

  • when i was 16 i used to smoke marajuana. i think i did it because of peer pressure and wanting to get away from my dysfunctional family. at the time my father was being abusive to my mother and cheated on her regularly. it took me a year to realise that drugs wasnt an answer at all to my problems, but to get rid of my father. standing up to who i considered was my 'rock' in my life was the scariest thing i ever done.
