Slash is a highly predictable player, usually staying within a scale structure where 90% of the notes and their order are in a set pattern and largely memorized. It is tiring to listen to for any length of time. Only the heavy distortion makes it marginally engaging. Gone are the days of the masters. We really have little more than wanting mimics to follow them.
