  • It's in Alabama. Troy is in the southeastern part of the state between Montgomery and Dothan. The CSX line is the former ACL "Bow Line" that runs from Montgomery to Waycross, GA. The Central of Georgia line ran from Nuckols (south of Phenix City, AL) through Union Springs and Troy to Andalusia, AL. Very little of this line remains in service, only Troy to Goshen and a short section of the south end in Andalusia.

  • Central was one of my favorite roads...trying to figure out where this is...Georgia??? I know some trackage was abandoned in Georgia...not sure about Alabama Thanks!!!

  • Yes. It is north of Troy along US 29 heading toward Banks. (Northbound on the highway, but southbound on the railroad.) The Central of Georgia line from Union Springs was abandoned in 1989. Part of that line from Troy to Goshen is still in service as the Conecuh Valley RR.

  • Not sure where this is...Troy???? When was CofG line abandoned???
