This week's prime slap recipient is Richard Cass, the father of British backpacker Jamie Neale who was recently found safe and well after being lost in the Australian outback for 12 days. A bit of background here:

And here's a little bit of info on $240,000 of ratepayer's money well-spent - the new Melbourne "M" logo:

  • Love this channel! Keep up the good work Matt :)

  • love it!! SHE needs to be slapped!!

  • My favorite "The Slap" Yet! Great Job Matt

  • Letterman got TONS of mileage out of Palin-even after she retired he STILL made jokes and they were still just as funny!

  • In one hand, it is a good thing you are not feeding that person. On the otherhand, it is a shame to miss out on your take on what happened.

Ah well, you gave enough to make anyone happy. :D

  • I could poke my shit in the toilet bowl to make a letter M that looks better then that, I can't believe they spent that much just for that, that is fucking nuts. Could of kept alot of homeless and hungry people in Melbourne safe for the winter with all that money, fucking idiots.

  • What was worng with the old M for Melbourne, no surprise the idea came from Doyle.

    The slap was well deserved.

  • today's recipient deserved the red hand print of justice that you rightfully gave him

  • I could live with spending 200k on a new logo if it looked any bloody good.

That thing looks like something that was trying to look futuristic in the early 80s and failing miserably even then.

Nothing can graphically represent Melbourne better than our existing icons - the spire, Flinders St Station, the Shrine, even the MCG. There are your logos!

  • I don't know anyone in Melb that thinks that M is a good thing.
