It was a Pituophis,harmless ..I hope they didnt kill it..This is why people who arent into herpetology shouldnt pick stuff up,leave em alone..He didnt even look for a rattle until he had already picked it up..Most US snake bites are from intoxicated people,the rest are stupid people,this is the proof....
