You should add some parts to it so it only comes out of a gear unless the clutch is engaged.

Ok. i'm realy geting anoyed with these lego "transmisions" every one keeps making. dont get me wrong, as a lego fan there great, but as a gear head im disapionted. does any one of these people even know how a standered transmision even works? in reality the torque from the engine would tear these things to shreds. i just want to see if any one can manage to mack an actual proper working transmision.

This is a good video ,the gears work very well but what you made there is not a clutch,the clutch dose not stop the car when in drive,but you did make the breaks to the car.Anyways thank you for posting this video .it is very helpful!
