Original Everquest Intro Movie 1999

EQ people suck at WoW huh ? Well, maybe WoW players suck at EQ as well, and regarding not being able to chat while doing combat....i'd rather have some text messages pop up on my screen then several people screaming my eardrums deaf in Teamsay or Ventrilo.

Maybe in the very beginning, but even back then i cannot remember that (on Tunare Server) the place to trade, buy, sell, and laugh at people who had died falling to their deaths - was the Greater Faydark, or Gbay as it was named later on.

So many memories...I remember the original bazaar, Freeport...

cant say i like wow(though i played since the first time they let people test wow back in the day) better because i never played eq since i didnt have a computer in 1999(got my first in 2004 then i was 12 years old) so the first really mmorpg i played was wow but from what i gathered this is the grandfather of todays mmorpgs.

After playing the original EQ I can't seem to ever really get into any other MMO.I tried so hard so like WoW,but in the end I was just logging in because my friends wanted me to get into it. I played EQ when I was 8 years old,the first time I logged in was a jaw dropping experience for me.People were actually nice and helpful,they didn't make fun of me for being a little 8 year old girl newbie.Days weren't always about leveling,but goofing off and having a good time!

I still think Ultima Online is the best MMORPG of all time.

Clearly not cause I played it when it came out and remember this is after Half-Life and System Shock and it had the worst interface and the worst combat I've ever experienced. You stood still and hit hotkeys and the animations were so bad....

Play WoW instead it has more demanding combat where you can't chat while doing it.

Why the Everquest people complain about WoWs combat, cause they suck at it as it requires the use of the keyboard and mouse at the same time.

Everquest came out in 1999. WoW in 2004. Obviously WoW would (and should) have better/sleeker combat mechanics. It's a poor comparison to put EQ up to two FPS's and an MMO which came out 5 years later.

If I could go back, I would play classic EQ over WoW anyday.

I played WoW for months and ran screaming back to EQ. People who have the ability to recognize superior game mechanics can see that EQ rises above. The classes were finely tuned where each had a specific job in each battle and raid. If a few people out of a hundred aren't doing their job, the machine breaks down and the raid fails.

Most of the typing that goes on in EQ is called strategy. Since you play WoW, you probably don't know what that word means.
