I think he just got greedy in the situation and tried to force the pot his way without really thinking it through a lot. he saw like 6 million chips sitting in the pot and tried a power move thinking that moon would probably fold since it was for most of his chips and was right before the final table.

Kopp said this in another interview:
"I think people underestimate how many times I’m getting it in as a big favorite when he can’t get away from trips or possibly even worse." So which is it? Was it a bluff or a value bet?? contradictions ftl!!

wow Kopp is full of shit.

yeah i agree with everyone here .... kopp is an idiot i dont know how he made it that far with a theory like that ... i dont think anyone in that position will fold a nut flush despite a paired board cuz more than likely a person who shoves 100 big blinds like that is bluffing a big hand ... bad move kopp u may never get this close to winning the main event again!
-
"any experienced player is folding the nut flush there"
lolno, Kopp.
-
i agree with 10crow, billy kopp is a donk and also... why is he raising preflop with 5 3 of diamonds with 12 people left? Does he not desire to make it to final table? If I had 5 3 of diamonds and 3 people needed to be knocked out, I would just sit out and go get some food somewhere and let three people knock each other out.

lol what an idiot, if his only read is that darvin moon was an amatuer than trying to "Bluff" him off the nut flush will almost NEver work, i think he reallly didnt have any idea where moon was in the hand and just got carried away.

I think he was giving a Kopp out =)) ... I totally agree. Even a high caliber pro would check raise him on that situation and call his all in, although they might be in the think tank longer. He got outplayed and tried to make excuses... fold equity only works if you know there's a higher likelihood of your opponent folding.

The classic case of pros THINKING TOO MUCH! TOO MUCH book "learnin" and scouting can mess ya up, Especially, in tournaments. "Blah ,blah, blah"

Kopp is so full of it. He's trying to save face by saying his intention was to bluff a full boat with a huge bet on the turn. "Any skilled player would have folded a nut flush to that bet". What gives it away, though, is Kopp's reaction when Moon calls him. Kopp stands up and triumphantly tosses his cards across the table, ready to celebrate victory. When he sees the bad news, it's like he is caught red-handed - abject horror. Obviously, Kopp wasn't bluffing - he thought he had the winning hand.

If Moon wins the Main Event, he should send a thank you card to Kopp. It's not everyday someone just hands you 20 million in chips.
