Britten motorcycle Burt Munro Rally Teratonga Invercargill Toot

Saturday 28th November 2009 were in Invercargill the boys road trip 09 3833 kms on our bikes in 8 days. 3 of them in Invercargill !!!!!!!!! NZ is the best riding country in the world I reckon. So theres this big festival down south to celebrate Burt Munro the guy who made the worlds fastest Indian ie the film. They have Burts Indian and the Kiwi built replica streamliner which was in the film { Ducati 750 powered ) and they had the Britten on display in Hayes depatment store just awesum.Also theres a museum with all of the props from the movie and the worlds largest Truck museum really good and of course the Spieghts Ale house for refreshment if needed. Yeh rightand a wicked muzic / beer tent at the rally camp site.. We will go from Auckland New Zealand to this every year to worship these guys and just have a good time with our mates Hope it gets as big as Sturges. this footage is of the Britten firing up ,it had a few glitches but it went for a few laps of honour the next dat at Wyndam it was on song just hauling wheelies stoppies etc .when it came on the scene it blitzt Daytona not bad for a kiwi designed and built bike eh. Its a vee Twin 1000 only 9 or 10 ever made and I think a couple are in the States. I think the bike was bored to 1100 before John Britten unofrtunately died at a young age but his legend lives on! Rider is NZs Andrew Stroud. The Rally is a hill climb Thursday Beach racing Friday, Race track Sat at Teratonga speedway oval Sat night and street racing in Wyndam Sunday thats Burts home town . CU there next year.
