  • I'm getting In all the parts for my first build. I'm also going to be using a Z68XP-UD4 motherboard with a CoolerMaster V8 and a i7 2600k overclocked to 4.0GHZ. My qwstion is are you able to use all 4 ram slot or does the V8 get In the way and only allow u to use 2 of your 4 slots? Thanks for any help.

  • @mrenuff You should be able to fit all the normal sized ram. If it has a crazy tall heat spreader like Rip Jaws or something super tall then it won't fit I think. You can try turning the V8 90 degrees to free up a few millimeters but not much difference in North/South vs East/West installation orientation on the cooler. Hope it helps, I guess you will find out when it comes. If you don't need the extra ram I recommend skipping and just getting (2x2GB).

  • oh yes she is a beauty

  • @wilfredotour3 Thanks for watching!

  • @Hunterbgpz You can set the temperature at which your computer will shut down in the BIOS. It's a safety feature. If they're about the same price then it's basically a decision between multi-tasking performance and gaming performance. The 1100T will play games fine, but the 2500K will do it a bit better. Most games only run on 2 or 4 cores anyway. If you just want to play games, get the 2500K, ti will be around for a while. My 1100T overclocks to 4GHz on the stock cooler without overheating.

  • @Hunterbgpz Both overclock well with aftermarket coolers.

Hmm, they're priced exactly the same here in Bulgaria - 200 euro each. I heard that the AMD shuts down when it reaches a certain temperature. I'm really confused, because I think that the Intel will not be as future proof, due to the lower number of cores. How's overclocking btw?

  • @Spoojjy Yep heavy multithreaded stuff mean more cores then of course the 1100T will overtake the 2500k. Having owned both I like both of them. I just wish AMD would try to step up their game against Intel.

  • @Hunterbgpz Glad to help. People will tell you alot that a 2500k will destroy an 1100T, which in gaming is probably true. Intel's architecture IS much better, but if you want to do multi tasking, and want a lower price (generally), then the 1100T is the best option. I can Alt-Tab between Crysis, Metro 2033, and NFS without going over 80% load. Also AMD has the advantage of some pretty low temperatures. So you won't need an aftermarket cooler. My 1100T maxes at 46c at full load for 3 hours
