  • Hi everyone, I have been putting some new vid together and shouls be posting them up soon. there will be another update for this Port Jackson in the next week or so.. please keep checking my channel.

    Thanx...

  • Hi, I think that a radical restyle could be done. I like your idea of cutting the branch off but think that cutting both them off would be even better. you would end up with an S bend in the trunk which would look good. the key to making this work would be to use wire to train the crown of the tree out wards so that you get the head of the tree to spread wider and grow into proportion over the next couple of years, wire will train the branches to grow horizontally and improve its appearance.

  • @iluvmx1977 Hi i made those cuts that i was talking about in the video u can see it in the second video.. But i understand what your saying and to tell you the truth i will most likely cut the remaining branches off and let new lighter branches grow and reshape with wire. this way i will get a samller bonsai with a thick trunk. thanks for the input.

  • Hello sir,

I do believe that bonsais are like women. You should manipulate them however you like, if it dies then get another one.

BTW that is a lovely hat, can you please advise where you purchased this hat?

  • @AUSfreemanAUS ; you have a interesting outlook on some issues it seems.. but thanks for the comments.. :)).. And the hat was a gift.. don't know where it was purchased...

  • I think u should grow moss around the base of the trunk because of the roots

    it would look great than

  • @PogoFogo Yeh i have plans to do that but i have decided to change the design the shape of the Bonsai. i will hopefully post a new video in the next two or three weeks as a update.

  • @Budoninja yeah I think that sounds like a good idea, train the branches with wire so that you get them to grow horizontally this time and play with the shapes. that base is so chunky, it looks awesome, the top will grow back to something decent in a couple of years if you chop the other two branches off. where do you get your bonsai supplies from?. are you in Sydney?

  • you have a good bonsai there just let it grow some let it fill out on the top but don't let it grow tall just but let it grow so that u can see the diameter growth this is going to sound funny but your bonsai will talk to you in growth and then you can see what you wanna do in the shaping i will make a video soon i have a 78yr bonsai but with me i been having it for 23yr

  • @MatthewDLG : thanks for your input. i will have another short clip showing where the bonsai is now. i have cut the branch that is on the right in the first shot of the clip and shortend the 2 branches that hand to the left.
