  • He's right about that. Nobody used thumb slugs in the 80's or early 90's until resin balls came out. The original Rhino Pro and Excaliber were extremely tacky or sticky and you couldn't clear the thumb without putting a slug in.

  • The PBA started coming to Canada in the early 1980's.....I don't know if you remember and Molson Challenge in Windsor Ontario.

  • When did the PBA come to Canada? I thought it was only here when Mike Edwards won his first and only title.

  • I used finger grips when they first came out in the early 80's and used the thumb insert later in the 80's when it came out. These things allowed me to have a consistent grip among the 50 or so balls I had...yes 50 balls.

  • Pretty much free advertising, because Ernie started this company, if I remember correctly (or he at least had a major stake in it).

  • Ernie uses the term "tacky" lol
