After witnessing Sal Honu crush the Washed-up Meathead, under 220lb Trap Bar Deadlift record, John Emeli takes a time-out from his upper body workout to beat Sal by 2.5lbs with a 677.5lb Dead. At the same time, John took the Under 220lb College Trap Bar Deadlift Record from Luis Altamiranda (formerly 635lb).
This kid can obviously do more than just hold weight with his teeth LOL!

  • What a fucking beast

  • @foxilicouse One obvious reason is because the dl is primarily focused on moving the weight up to the lockout while squatting involves getting the weight down to parallel (or lower) and then bringing it back up to the top of the movement. You do not have to worry about controlling the weight down in the deadlift. Also, you do not have to arrest the motion of the weight in the deadlift. As impressive as huge weights with a trap bar is, the same weight with an oly bar is more impressive.

  • @ImNotAsGoodAsDevin if its basically a squat than why can i max 60 lbs. more on deadlift (with trap bar) than squat

  • what on the trap circle at my gym i can only fit 585 and thats balancing

  • @codybelv10 This first time I checked, you've never lifted a weight before if you think a 1 rep max is 3 reps. HES DOIN AN 1 REP MAX NOT A 3 REP MAX >.>.

  • @ihgsudfhd trap bar its easier

  • you know you are a monster when the plates explode off the side when you drop it :)

  • @ihgsudfhd easier, and it's not a true deadlift. it is basically a squat when it's on a trap bar because of where the weight is distributed in relation to your base of support. either way that's some serious weight

  • Is trapbar dl harder than regular bar?

  • the fucking weights exploded off at the end what a finish
