  • Last April 30th 2011, I did something that I have been wanting to do for a very long time. And that was to walk 40 miles / 65 kms in 12 hours or less dedicated to (1) Col. William O. Darby, a US Army “Ranger Forefather” who was killed on April 30th 1945 at Torbole (Italy). (2) The fallen “Sky Soldiers” of the 173rd Airborne Brigade in Vicenza (Italy) who made the ultimate sacrifice in Iraq & Afghn. (3) And to my fellow 509th Airborne “Geronimos” who I once served with from 1973-76 & 1981-83.
