this is to show one of my future projects and how I produce my videoclips (soundfiles).
Step by step the instruments will be recorded and mixed finally.

THIS drum is my DIY-12''-tom, that I built out of trash for my project "Makedonsko Devoice".

I expected it to lose sound and tone (frequency) due to the cheap and very simple construction... but forget about that. It is still as stable in sound and frequency as it was some weeks ago.... and guess what ? It even fits to this song perfectly. Unbelievable ! Originally designed as a floor tom, I planned to add some feet (stand) to it... but shortly I recognized the possibility to change the tone (frequency) just by pushing the outer corpus (plastic material from a waste-basket) with my left arm. The tension supplied will squeeze the skin (drum head) just a little bit giving nice options of sound modification... this drum is much better as I thought first - really an universal and interesting instrument (very cheap by the way). Different sounds can be produced by hitting different places closer or away from the center and the rim as well. The white cross is self adhesive tape and by purpose. This makes the spot behave (and sound) different - reduces unwanted vibration at this point. I can only recommend other musicians to make their own experiments with this kind of drum - it's simply amazing.

here is a short description how to build the drum:

It will take a while until this project will be finished !
THIS IS A PREVIEW ONLY.
I decided to take this clip to my group "my accordion and other instruments" as an example.

  • that was nice:)

Thank you very much for your encouraging comment.

This is just a first step for project. It would be really nice if I could find other musicians to join me (maybe panflute, recorder, low whizzle... what ever).

Maybe we need to omit the singer(s) - they seem to be quite rare here and somehow preferring to sing in groups rather to instruments as a solist... I don't know. People prefer to watch and listen rather than doing something on their own.

    Lazy people.

    Shame on you.
