@FlaviusConstantius Forest's success owed a lot to some judicious movement in the transfer market - e.g. Gemmill, Burns and especially Shilton. With respect to the likes of Curran, Chapman and Middleton, Forest would never have won the title with them.
It also helped that the Clough-Taylor partnership was capable of footballing alchemy.

In 76-77 Forest just scraped promotion by finishing 3rd in Division 2 (behind Wolves and Chelsea). From memory if Bolton had won 1 of their final 2 games they would have gone up instead of Forest, but they didn't win either so they missed out. Yet here Forest are a year later walking away with the league title with largely the same team. It's a funny old game.

probably one of the worst decisions in english football history was to let ron greenwood manage instead of clough the england squad.
but for forrest it became one there luckiest decisions because theyw ould go on to win the european cup twice.
