  • I have a pre-ban 13 rounder (standard cap. for the g23) and it does the same thing. When you go to release the mag it doesnt fall out by itself. You have to pull it out.

  • @Dafarnakis I got looking closely at mine. I noticed it was flared out on the front top side of the mag. Took some sandpaper, sanded it down and not a problem since.

  • Glocks are awesome, only one I have right now is a 19 I got new 8 or 9 years ago when they still came in the tupperware boxes.

  • @thejmeister88 Tupperware LOL. Mine too.

  • just got a Glock 23 and it turned a month old yesterday.. I think I'll be keeping it for a long time.. I see that slide going forward as more of a feature.. if I am injured and i can still load it by slamming the mag in.. may just save my life. Great vid.

  • Thanks, glad you liked it. The Glock 23 really has been one of my favorites.

  • @jkatz44 Yes, its a designed in feature for tactical reloading...it only does it when u slam it in there....all glocks do this....I have heard but not seen cases where it fires upon doing this so be careful perhaps for try it several times in a safe direction.

  • when inserting the mag its hitting the slide release try getting a new mag release

  • @jkatz44 That usually happens when you use the slide release on an empty chamber, it wears it out, and when you slam the mag or shake the gun violently, it will do that... Hope I helped.

  • @Cr0cket20 Lots of gun do that if you slam the mag inside the gun like that. It does it with 1911s, tokarevs, glocks, and pretty much any pistol that you shoot. Some will not do it straight out of the box, but once you break in the springs, it will do it. This is an excellent feature for quick reloads without having to rack the slide.

What happens is, the bullet in the mag brushes up against the slide release and disengages it. Try it with an empty mag and you'll see.

  • It is normal for a Glock to chamber a round when you slam a magazine into the gun.
