@ingenmansland Yes, traditionally the commands are in german, but the rules don't require that. A lot of people (myself included) like to keep the performance commads seperate from the casual commands used around the house. For example I don't expect the same response from "down" at home as I do from "PLATZ" in training.

Is it german commands? or am I just not hearing the commands well enough...

What's with the helper making that dark sable miss on every long bite and have to re-attack and he holds the sleeve out in front and still on every other dog he catches while acting like that little mal is beating the snot out of him...I am pretty new to the sport, but that did not look like fair helper work. Did the helper know he'd get knocked down if he caught him? Did he know that there was a health issue that made catching him dangerous to the dog? Did the Mal win and this was favoritism?

Any good GSD, Mali, dobe etc will protect you in the street/house if they feel that you are properly threatened. This Schutzhund is not about "attack"or how vicious your dog can be. Don't confuse a vicious dog with a highly trained Schz dog. These Schz dogs love the "play" and are not vicious at all. Yes they would also protect you properly, but will be better controlled if they did so, and will "hold off" a perceived aggressor rather than just go straight for the bite.
Awesome dogs/trainers

this is a good sport but I do Disagree with the training methods all to often used to train these dogs. I do admit I love to watch schutzhund

It is really pathetic how they HEEL since in the REAL world, NO dog walks like that!!!

This video features the three best breeds for police/guard work. The GSD, Doberman and Malinois. GSD and Dobies are easiest to train. Malinois are slower learners but can do it all. They are somewhat light boned but are tremendous athletes. Note the comparative jumping ability between the Doberman, which easily clears the obstacle, and the Shepherds that must kick off with hind legs to clear it. Rottweilers have a real hard bite but lack stamina. Giant Schnauzers are stubborn but good too
These dogs attack ONLY on command, am I right??

Maciek (SaiYanSighT), thank`s for comment!
Not absolutely so. In some elements of protection a dog has works at the command of a conductor. But in other case does a bite when the figurant attacks. Pls. learn more details when you read work rules in "C" SchutzHund sport programm.
