This is just a quick preview showing that we can now use an alpha, alpha-numeric or numeric passcode. If you don't want to use this and just want the old (3.1.3 numeric) phone keypad passcode, you can disable this in the settings.
In fact, this is not defaulty enabled. You will have to go into the passcode settings menu to enable it.
This is actually enabled in 3.x, but it's mostly known for corporations that need to use iPhones and want to securely manage them. You need to create a configuration profile that requests that an alpha-numeric passcode is used for the iPhone, and then you push it onto the iPhone, and you'll have alpha-numeric passcodes on the iPhone OS 3.x.
I'm really not worried about anyone here knowing my passcode. Those who would watch the video that I know in real life either never have my phone, or I trust completely, so my passcode here is really not an issue, especially since it was set just for this video, and has no relevance to any of my other online activities.
Oh, sorry about my tapping knee...I was listening to music while I made this video.
Cool. I didn't know about this feature.
