@Dathinkingman haha so true

whether ur an atheist or theist u gotta love that funky 90s music in the start

In other words: If I blow up your retarded creationist head, will you still be able to think?
-
@klard But it would still be a non-material mind. And that is what Lowder is driving at: all the evidence indicates that minds are dependent on matter.

Evolution occurs over an incredibly, incredibly long period of time. How long have we had "modern" urban environments? Probably a blink in history in terms of evolution. Still, rats, pigeons, cockroaches, and even other pests like raccoons have survived marvelously in human environments because we provide food and run off all their natural predators. There isn't many natural pressures for them to evolve. But take a look at the evolution of the Bovine cow...that's mostly due to human selection.

ohmc303: Your definition is good. What I am saying is why have we not seen at least one new species evolve to inhabit the evolving large urban areas. All we have is basically the same ancient rats pigeons and cockroaches.
-
describe urban, cause if it's the urban in the dictionary, it just mean growing city environments. also, describe what species you think would adapt to the city that we create.
-
adaptation or "evolution" occurs over a long period of time. I don't know your views but I consider myself a naturalist...could be due to my animal biology studies over the past 5 years but who knows.

What is this "disembodied mind" business? I am sure that many Theists believe that God has a body, a spiritual body of a different nature than the physical material we are used to.
-
Why hasn't evolution produced new species to adapt to and take advantage of the ever growing urban environments? We still basically have ancient rats and pigeons.
What can a theist really say in this debate to support his position? "some old book written two thousand years ago says it, so it must be true"?? Or perhaps: "We want to believe it so it must be true"???? In fact it is up to the theist's to prove their wild claims. And they cannot. Their irrational beliefs are nothing more than very complicated superstitions. Based on fear of death.
