In America we call them turnips too. Those really look great! I recently made some, but my pastry was so hard it was like hard tack! At least they travelled well and didn't get damaged in my pack :)

You can tell you are true Cornish as you are totally correct. But as were not taking them down the mines for lunch, and our hands are clean, we'll forgive her for the crimping on top!!! : )
