I cant really speak for the toyota name after 96, but it seems the days of a true "pick up" died when they started to come out with the tacoma.

Well, maybe not the best commercial ever (Joe Isuzu trumps it for sure) but definitely the best compact truck ever. Well maybe not the best compact truck ever (that would be the 1979-1983 Toyota) but definitely the best one in 84!

@firstmusic00 what small truck didnt period? Every ranger I see has rusted rear frames with the leaf spring hangers rusted off. And every s10 has completely rusted away under the cab.

Toyota is the best and all u haters know that.....that's why u haters on this Toyota comments talking shit bcuz u kno these old trucks are the best and still a lot on the road....I hardly see any old American truck last or car like how I see a lot of old toyotas still on the road.
