  • Read somewhere that "struttin' with some barbecue" meant walking with a pretty girl on your arm.

  • I'm playing an arrangement of this song in my high school's jazz ensemble, and I just love this old fashioned jazz. It's so much more fun to play than modern jazz

  • @dickidoo123 yeah my jazz history teacher said that i think

  • @dickidoo123 It means getting with an underage girl.

  • This is a classic recording by Armstrong at his zenith. Listen to his out chorus. Like angels singing.

  • Quintessential example of pre-1950 musical charm.

  • @dublcheez yea i play alto and i agree the classic old stuff has more of a feel to it

  • Wonderful stuff. I'm reading Terry Teachout's biography of Armstrong now.
