You could put a Silver Shocka mpc on a kazoo and it would sound great!
-
Not gonna lie that's a nice sounding horn.

@runhorun If the pads and stuff are intact, it shouldn't cost you anymore than $100 to get them to get out any dents. And you can always find good deals on cases on the internet. And this would be the perfect opportunity to try out some different necks.

@gzaragoza This is proof that it is not the horn, but the player. Granted, the mouthpiece setup has a lot to do with it (not for the sound itself, but for the way it feels and works for the player), but you could give Charlie Parker one of these and he would've been able to play it the same way he would any other horn.

@Vertelez I saw a yas 23 yamaha at a pawnshop for 200 something. It did not have the Neck or carry case. THe finish was really Rough and the end of the horn was bent. I offered them 130 and they wanted me to take it for 150. What should I do? Do i get it? I could not believe it was a yas 23 from yamaha. HOw much is it to get it serviced and refinished??? It it worth it?

@Vertelez how much is your yas 23 saxaphone?
-
i love the 23. its a great horn. works so smooth!
-
Gosh, this is why I love Yamaha's. Even the "student" models sound great when played well with a good piece.
-
@gzaragoza no, it's Cris Elliot.
2nd sax was a CE Winds Classic Vintage Alto played with a Lakey mp, V16 reed
