OCT 18 at Super Training with Mark Bell and Treston Shull. We are doing Anderson Squats with the Safety bar. This is done for sets of 5 or more and they are done on our assistance day.

  • @313Asad1 This post shows, not only a complete misunderstanding of powerlifting, mathematics and common sense, but is complete?ly incomprehensible. 'Lifted'? How about clarifying the lift Mark Bell has squatted over 1000lb, benched over 800 and deadlifted over 700. Which 'lift' are you stronger than him? Jesus....

    Nice exercise, Mark. Might have to try this one.....

  • No namecalling needed. But Paul did the squats you mention, and all varieties. I read he front squatted 770. DAMN. He also squatted a bar with swinging metal containers on both ends, filled with something like 15,000 silver dollars, in Las Vegas late 50's or early 60's it weighed 1,200 + they said, he went low, deep with the load SWINGING. No piano wire legs had The Great Paul Anderson, but 2 Redwood trees.

  • Yea an Anderson squat is essentially what the rack pull is for the deadlift for the squat, IMHO. Ingenious simple decomposition of the lift by Mr Anderson too. I just did my first sets of them three days ago using the super yoke instead of the squat rack. This made it easier to adjust pick depth. My goodness gracious, I would not have believed I would plunge so far so fast into a DOMS recovery, definitely some goodness in Anderson squats!
