Another British band

I preferred the Beck version initially as I'd heard it first, but by the second listen I already prefer this. Another surprisingly-British band... it's incredible how much the UK dominated music in the late 70s to mid 80s.

I love this song so much, what a ballad! It came out a few months before I was born in 1980. (I'm using another account,thats why it says 81.) I'm sure I remember it playing on my mum and dad's radio back in the 80's! The Baby D and Marc Et Claude remixes are great too.:-)

This is from 1980 sorry remember it from being in high school and then university.
This is a wonderful song in it just sort of haunts your thoughts and feeling from the first time you hear it.
Even all these years later and it is wonderful.

Sorry but I graduated in 1982 and remember this song from then.
It is from the dumb waiter album and first released in 1980.
By the way it could be the year it was aquired by the record company to put out on c.d..
No hard feelings it is a great song and brings back many memories of my life back then.

I read somewhere it was re-recorded in 1990.
