Ofra will never be forgotten. Her voice was pure gold. God blessed her with so much talent.

I never knew she did this live! Her live voice is just as beautiful as she was!

@deanfromromania The two are equal in my eye. I love them each a ton (and I've even combined them musically, check my profile). :)

Ofra Haza still kicks Shakira's butt even though she's been gone ten years, may she rest in peace. :)

yes as an atheist i know about this, but if she was murded by the knesset it will probably never be proven....

its VERY difficult to write songs today that do not remind you of other songs..and it is very possible Shakira was and is listening to Ofras songs..Afterall she is half Libaneese.
Its often people that are mixed blood, that do GREAT things, they combine the best of both cultures.
PEACE AND LOVE and ALWAYS MUSIC!

Well think about it, look at their patterns; -Slow intro with a few notes -Beat kicks in with exotic instrument playing -Verse melody part 1 -Verse melody part 2 -Bridge -Chorus with repeating melody ("Whenever, Wherever... Thereover, hereunder", "Show me... Tell me") -Instrumental break staying within range of a few notes -Heavy drums -Repeat the above That can apply to both songs.

What a great loss to our world.
Now she is back in heaven.

Anyone else notice how this song has a similar pattern to Shakira's Whenever, Wherever? W,W came after Show Me, and I'm not saying Shakira copied, I just find it kind of cool.

hmmm, no, I don't see that (well ... maybe a little). but I like Shakira as well (she's also smart, beautiful and a seemingly "nice person"), so it's interesting you connected the two.
