  • Love it! Acceptance should be as easy to find as Defeat for parents who are looking for help with autism. It still isn't, but TAAP and Posautive are helping. THANK YOU

  • cheers, we're all doing our best, enjoy!

  • Glad to see there's a positive take on ASD. I look at my 4 year old with AS and see that his perspective on life is different, and it is beautiful. I fear those who think he needs to change or needs a cure. No, don't change his great personality in pursuit to "cure" him, he's beautiful the way he is.

  • for some reason this friendly message was never drawn to my attention (Youtube messaging, snarl), thank you very much

  • As one autistic friend said, it isn't so much that it sucks to be an autistic adult - but the way we're treated by society sucks.

  • That's sort of why the Posautive group was started - to get across the message that autistic people adults and children are real people with real feelings; that appearing weird is skin deep; that being atypical is not a disease state. Did you take a look at the Posautive sense or Posautive adults groups? I think you might find some stuff there which will interest you.

  • All your comments make good sense, thank you. But people who resist caring about whether someone's a misfit or not *do* exist. It's because of people like that there is a possibility of changing social attitudes so that unusual people can be appreciated rather than scorned. This varies from culture to culture, so it is not immutable

  • Very true. It can suck to be an autistic adult - but the reason that is the case is not because of anything intrinsic in relation to being an adult on the spectrum. It's because of how adults on the spectrum are excluded by society.
