Four LVMPD officers have been given the Medal of Honor for their response to an armed robbery at local pub in 2010. The Medal of Honor recognizes brave actions that extend above and beyond the normal call of duty or service, performed at a risk to personal safety or life in an effort to protect property or save human life. Officer Michael Franco, Officer Peter Kruse, Officer John Nelson, and Officer Philip Zaragoza responded to a popular pub on Nellis Blvd ... where an armed robbery was in-progress. The female bartender was being held with a knife to her neck. It was a chaotic scene... giving the officers only seconds to act.
